Fostering Hope Louisiana

louisiana parishes-map

Life for children in foster care is fraught with trauma. They experience trauma from the abuse, trauma from being removed from familiar surroundings and trauma as they adjust to daily life with strangers. These young people have chosen this safe place to voice their experiences with braces and foster care. Journey with them as they tell you their stories.

The vital role of the orthodontists may be obvious but equally important are the participating judges. Besides ensuring that every family is treated fairly and receives due process, another role of the judges who preside over Child in Need of Care (CINC) Cases is to ensure that the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) develops case plans that are in the best interest of the child while protecting their safety and health, including their oral health.

Click on a region in the sidebar below to read the stories of the children and to see the judges and orthodontists who have partnered with Fostering Hope Louisiana to promote resiliency.
